Holes is a 2003 film based on the 1998 novel by Louis Sachar. The film stars Shia LaBeouf as Stanley, Khleo Thomas as Zero, Sigourney Weaver as The Warden, Jon Voight as Mr. Sir, and Tim Blake Nelson as Mr. Pendanski.

• [Walks into the tent after Mr. Pendanski, who is inside, says that no one cares about Zero] I do.

Stanley Yelnats: [runs to Armpit] Hey, Theodore, is there a place I can fill my canteen up with water? [Armpit puts Stanley in a headlock]

Squid: I know he smells that.

Armpit: Yo, my name is not Theodore. [shoves Stanley to the ground] It's Armpit. There's a water spigot over there.

The Warden: Grampa had us out there digging every day. Even on Christmas.

[in a brief flashback to her childhood, the Warden is digging out on the dry lake bed alongside an elderly Trout Walker]

Trout Walker: Alright, today's the day.

Louise Walker: I'm tired of this, Grampa!

Trout Walker: That's too damn bad! You keep diggin'!

Louise Walker: Well, excuse me.

Trout Walker: You'll thank me one day.
